Bear Skulls backstory ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’€

During an intense LSD trip sometime in the summer of 1968, the Bear commissioned a series of gem-quality colored crystal skulls for his personal art collection.ย  Someone knew a sculptor who worked with lead glass.ย  Bear paid her $20k up front and said he didnโ€™t give a shit how long it took her.ย  For months, and then years, the artist struggled to develop the technology required to meet Bearโ€™s demanding specifications.ย  The Bear eventually forgot about the project, and while he was in prison in the early โ€˜70s the artist abandoned the work and moved back East.ย ย

This is a digital run of the Bearโ€™s long-lost skulls series by capnganj.ย ย

Each NFT is a textured 3D model of a human skull and a high-resolution preview image.ย  The faceted 3D geometry of each skull, the wavy colored texture that is mapped onto the 3D mesh, and the high-res preview image are all unique 1/1s: they were generated algorithmically.ย  Traits / properties are included to help sort and filter, and to establish some rarity in the collection.

No fomo, project roadmap or fancy utilities or whatever: art is the utility. ย

Same ownership and commercial-use terms as BAYC.ย  Bear Skulls NFT owners can use their digital artwork to try to make their own acid money IRL if they want to: take high-res screenshots and sell merch at events; show them in your token-gated metaverse art galleries; 3D print them and shill physicals on the street; etc.ย

Enjoy digital art & support small artists, and donโ€™t take too much LSD in real life.

One love <3 @capnganj
